Dental Implant Placement and Restoration
Dental implants are titanium roots that are placed under the gum in the place of a missing tooth, to serve as an anchor for the replacement crown.  Dental implants can be used to replace single teeth or an entire arch of teeth, like the photographs below.
The implants (artificial roots) are placed in the bone under the gum tissue and allowed to heal for 3 to 6 months.  Then they are uncovered and the restorative process can begin.
Single implants can be restored with single crowns, multiple implants can be restored with multiple single crowns or connected fixed or removable bridges.
