Dental Implant Placement and Restoration |
Dental implants are titanium roots that are placed under the gum in the place of a missing tooth, to serve as an anchor for the replacement crown. Dental implants can be used to replace single teeth or an entire arch of teeth, like the photographs below. |
The implants (artificial roots) are placed in the bone under the gum tissue and allowed to heal for 3 to 6 months. Then they are uncovered and the restorative process can begin. |
Single implants can be restored with single crowns, multiple implants can be restored with multiple single crowns or connected fixed or removable bridges. |
